The Virginia Youth Symphony Concert Tours

In addition to a challenging and exciting musical experience, VYSO offers its members the opportunity for unique cultural understanding
through concert tours.  These high quality trips include performing in world-renowned venues, working with expert musicians, and recording
in professional studios.  Between rehearsals and performances, the VYSO musicians see important local sights and experience local culinary

Signore in Rome,  Ambassador Thomas Miller’s
residence for July 4 Celebration, Rome, American
Cemetery in Orvieto, and for Pope John Paul II at the
Vatican.

Sights include The Uffizi Museum in Florence, the
Roman Coliseum. the Vatican Museum and
underground catacombs tour.
2003                Washington, DC

Concert at the Kennedy Center, Camden Yards, Baltimore
(Star-Spangled Banner for the Orioles baseball game), an

television appearance
!

Sights include the Spy Museum, the Tattoo on the White
House grounds and staying at the Watergate               
Hotel.

Concerts at the Megaron, Athens, on the cruise
ship Triton in the Aegean Sea, in the moat of
the castle on the island of Rhodes.
           
Sights include Ephesus, Turkey, the Parthenon,
and Mediterranean islands of Mykonos,
Santorin, Patmos, and others.
